Ben Carpenter has been blessed to call Alaska home since 1985. And while naturally biased, he states with complete confidence that the Kenai Peninsula is the best place in the world to live!

Ben and Ameye grew up together in Nikiski where they would marry and eventually raise their family. They have now been married for 29 years and have four children and three beautiful granddaughters. They began their married adventure out-of-state when Ben joined the U.S. Air Force and later served as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Army.

During his military service, Ben graduated from Weber State University with a specialized degree in computer science, telecommunications management, and political science. Ben served three deployments to Iraq and one deployment to Afghanistan before he and his family departed active military service, returning home to Alaska in 2013. They continued service in the Alaska Army National Guard where Ben retired as a Major in 2018 – the same year he was first elected to the State Legislature.

Ben loves spending time with his family and tending to his commercial peony farm when not serving in Juneau. Ben and Ameye are active in 4-H and their local church. As time allows, Ben enjoys shooting and motorized sports, and can be found on the local disc-golf course from time to time!

Ben has repeatedly shown his commitment to conservative values and the protection of Alaskan family’s individual liberties through his votes, authored legislation, and fiscally conservative spending policies. Ben has spoken numerous times on the need for prioritizing a healthy private sector economy by developing our natural resources, keeping taxes low, and minimizing government regulations.

Representative Carpenter could not be more honored to represent his community in House District 8 and would love to earn your vote to continue serving as your next State Senator.
